What do I do if I need shelter?

If you are in immediate danger, please call 911. If not, call 660-269-8111. A staff member with speak with you and assess your situation and create a safety plan if needed.

Do I have to be a resident at the shelter to use your services?

No, we provide other resources to the community besides shelter that those in need can take advantage of. We have food baskets, clothing, legal and medical advocacy and counseling.


Would I have my own room if I stay at the shelter?

Yes, we provide each resident with their own bedroom.  There is a common living room, dining room and bath/shower rooms that our residents share.

Do you provide sexual assault assistance also?

Yes, we provide Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocacy. Advocates are also provided at the hospital, if requested, during a sexual assault. We will be happy to come and be there with you, providing you with support and resources as needed.


Do you provide services to men?
We provide services to women, men and children, resident and non-resident alike. Although our shelter is set-up for housing women, we do provide hotel-placement for men, when needed.

What if I need an Order of Protection?

Call and speak with our legal advocate and she will assist you in filling out the necessary paperwork and be with you through the whole process, if you like.

Do you offer support groups?

Yes, we have support groups available every week. They are offered for resident and non-resident alike. If you are interested, please call for further details.

Do you provide counseling for non-residents?

Yes, if you are or have been in a domestic/sexual abuse situation and would like to receive counseling, please give us a call.

What is the cost for your services?

All services for domestic/sexual victims and survivors are free of charge. There may be a copay for counseling depending upon your insurance.



How can I volunteer at the Shelter?

If you are interested in volunteering, please call 660-269-8999 and we will set up a time to speak with you. There will be an interview, an application to fill out, which can be printed off under volunteers, background check and training that will need to be completed before volunteering.

Do you provide rent/utilities assistance?

At this time, we are not able to provide assistance with rent or utilities. We have had grants in the past that have helped with that, but funding has been cut. If you are in need, please call. There may be other help we can provide.

Do you provide Medical and Legal Advocacy?

Yes, If you are in need of legal advice or help with medical issues, please give us a call. There are different options we can provide.

Do you take donations?

Yes, we take clothing, personal hygiene items, food, paper products, cleaning supplies and household items. Please call the shelter for drop-off. We also take monetary donations, which can be donated here on our site or sent to Safe Passage, P.O. Box 456, Moberly, MO 65270.
