IN HER SHOES
This exercise is designed to allow participants to "experience" the
issues and emotions Survivors of Domestic Violence face each
day. Participants learn about the different responses survivors
receive from family, friends, and community members as they weave
their way through their character's story. This exercise leaves the
participant with a better understanding of the true complexity of
domestic violence and the lasting impact it has on the survivor and
her/his loved ones.

IN THEIR SHOES
Designed with the classroom in mind, In Their Shoes: Teens and Dating Violence - Classroom Edition is an engaging way to talk about dating violence and healthy
relationships with young people in one class period. Participants become one of six characters based on the experiences of real teens including sexting, pregnancy, homophobia, and stalking.
They make choices about their relationships and move through the scenario by reading about interactions
with their dating partner, family, friends,
counselors, police, and others.

All three of the above curriculum takes about 1 1/2 hours to complete and is best with a group no more than 25 people at a time. After each presentation is given, we like to allow for at least 20 minutes (included in that 1 1/2 hrs) to talk about their stories, frustrations they came across, things that surprised them about their characters and any questions they might have about the scenarios.
